Bakeries are tough environments for HVAC. You've got ovens running hot, walk-in coolers cycling constantly, and staff working in a space that needs to stay comfortable while still meeting health and safety standards. Getting the airflow right isn't just about comfort - it's about keeping the business running properly.

This is a ductwork installation we completed for a local bakery here in Vista. The space had an open, industrial-style ceiling with exposed black steel beams, which actually worked in our favor. It gave us the room to run the spiral duct cleanly from end to end without having to fight around a drop ceiling.

We ran a main spiral trunk line across the full length of the space and branched off from there with flexible duct drops feeding into ceiling diffusers. That setup lets the system push conditioned air down into the occupied zone evenly - no hot spots behind the display cases, no cold blasts near the prep counters. For a food service environment, consistent distribution like that really matters.

Spiral duct isn't just a design choice. It's structurally stronger than rectangular duct, easier to seal properly, and it moves air more efficiently because of the lower friction inside the round profile. In a commercial kitchen-adjacent space like this, where grease and moisture are in the air, having a tight, well-sealed system also means less contamination risk inside the ductwork over time.

Coastal Breeze Heating and Air Conditioning handles commercial HVAC work like this all across North County San Diego. Whether it's a new build-out or a retrofit in an existing space, we design systems that actually fit the building and the business - not just whatever is cheapest to install.
